Why do we love chickens so much?

They way they run! Especially when their fluffy "bloomers" sway side to side. It cracks me up every single time.

The way they coo when they're happy.

And the fact that I imagine them talking to each other like the chickens do on the movie "Rockadoodle".....

Rockadoodle is a MUST SEE for anyone with chickens! It's a cartoon musical kids movie. I still enjoy watching it- the music is pretty good! And it has chickens and pheasants in it!

This is a video that a fan made, so the quality isn't the greatest. It's hard to find videos in English from this movie. This is a scene of Chanticleer the Rooster swooning Goldie Pheasant

I love the sweet little chirps.
how they ALWAYS are glad to see you.
There is nothing like having chickens fight over who gets to preen you first.

OMG I LUV ROCK-A-DOODLE!!!

I never knew that chickens had their own personalities until I got my hens. I love how they turn their heads to the side to look at you. Mine hate not being with the rest of the flock. I laugh every time I see one make a mad dash across the yard to get with the others.

I know what you mean! I would never have dreamed that I would love my chickens so much! We adopted them from a friend who is moving away and at first I thought I was doing her a favor, but little did I know that I would be the one who would be blessed! We are in the process of building them a much bigger coop which my husband refers to as the Taj Mahal and we cannot wait to get baby chicks in the spring! What a great adventure!
