Why does a hen want to broody? Why all of the sudden?

Is it your silkie? It's my understanding that silkies and cochins go broody A LOT. Like they are broody more than they are not broody.
 
How old are you? Have you heard the term.."comming into heat" when animals are ready to breed?

Then there is the "birds and bees" speech that some people missed growing up.

...that was funny, you must admit. Just ignore the broody ones. If you are not getting enough eggs, buy more chickens. Just be sure they are all the same size before you put them together. Course you being 12 and all you probably already knew that.
