Good News Tilly Does Lay An Egg Im So Happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:d

I have a Wyandotte with a messy bottom as well. But her problem is that she doesn't roost with the other girls. They have a 8 foot long roost, divided between 3 hens, and my Wyandotte sleeps in the bedding. So she poops where she sleeps and viola poopy butt!

Can a grown hen get "pasty butt" to where you need to bath them? Can their vent get blocked? Or do you let them clean themselves by dustbathing and such? This is a laying 9 month old hen, not a baby chick.

I dont think the adults can "paste up" but I hear ya on sleeping in the boxes! I have at least 6 that do that and I cannot seem to break them of it! Not that I've tried that hard....Terri O

That makes me feel better!! At first I thought there wasn't enough room, but now there is a huge roost with only 3 hens, but she still is determind to sleep on the ground. LOL. Silly chickens!
