I'd think it's most likely for attention, although I might be alittle concerned if it's a new thing, how old is she?
I have a cat that jumps on my back, it started with only when I bent over or was standing close enough to whatever he was standing on, but now he jumps straight up from the floor. As long as I keep his nails trimmed, it's not to bad, although he often catches me off guard.
I think my back is just very inviting because I also have a dog (a small one) that jumps up anytime I bend over far enough, and while working on the fence one day I felt something jump on my back, I though Zoe sure did seem heavy, it was one of my goats, Dallas.
