Why don't my coworkers understand?

Aww! Sounds like a sweetheart. I was out hanging out with the chicks(they grow up so fast, but are still so tiny!!!) and one of them stepped on my foot, and it made me so happy!!! I don't know about that whole dominance thing. When chickens are telling other chickens that they are dominant, they don't sit on them, they flog and/or peck them. In fact, the only time chickens really sit on each other is A) when they are chicks and they need to keep them warm and B) When they are cuddly derps.

Haha, same thing right here! I sit down to spend time with them, they are always all over me. :) My Easter Egger in particular likes to get under my eggs to try to get me to step on her! Anyone else got that issue? My Australorp will nip the others if they're on my lap while she is there. Having a Buff Orpington, an Easter Egger, and an Australorp on your lap all at once is NOT easy, but I still love their cuddles! ;)

Pfft .. I'm the random gal be-bopping along to every co-worker showing them pictures of whatever cuteness there recently was. Some are responsive, ask questions, and show genuine interest. Most just humor me and try to change the subject as quickly as possible. BTW .. this week it's EE chicks that hatched under our broody this past weekend.

Mine sit on each other when they want to lay in the same box and won't wait!

...That it is CUTE when a chicken steps on your foot. The other day I was out tending to the girls and felt something on my foot. I looked down and Wiggles, our beautiful mix breed, was just standing on my foot. I don't know why, but I thought it was extremely cute. No one I work with seemed to appreciate my story, so I thought that I'd share it here, where someone might under stand the cuteness of chicken toes on your feet. :p
I think it is AWESOME that chicken stepped on your foot! I think your hen wants to be close, whereas some will just run away. That hen is a awesomely cute gift. :woot:jumpy
