I agree! I'm so tired of having my posts edited for slang on another board. Here, we call a chook a chook, a roo a roo, and it's FINE. I'm also tired of having my chicken-related discussions locked for being too "chatty!" I can breathe here.

Oh, and yes, there are plenty of knowledgeable folks right here on BYC. Breed experts, hatching experts--okay maybe not so strong on the genetics sometimes, but we're getting better all the time

Thanks everyone for the great comments. There have been struggles and challenges over the years, but I'll say this... I'm so thankful for a wonderful community and staff (old and new) that make everything work so well.

Yup, we do have some strict rules and guidelines, but it is because we love chickens, love the community, and will do our darndest to make sure as many people possible can get the help they need when they need it!

Fortunately I didn't have to make the rules... for the most part they came with the site which came with 8.5 years of community experience.

Again, a huge thanks to the comments above and the support from all the great members that make BYC what it is!
