Why is her head like this?

Love the chick, she is adorable! Her head is abnormally 'vulture-like' but it seems like a natural wonkieness.

It is, honestly... she is my favourite Even though I claim I don't have favorites LOL

I do see a little bit of slow feather growth, and small areas that are a bit "bald," but nothing that will last. The face feathers should fill out normally soon enough.

Frankly, she looks like every Marans chick (or Marans-based Olive Egger) I've ever hatched... they always seem to have a grumpy, vulture-ish look to them when they're young. LOL, and mine are always half wild and untouchable when they're juvies. They want nothing to do with people at all! Until they're grown up and stop acting like idiots, that is.

Anyway, maybe she looks a bit different now (I've had so many like that when they're little that I think it's one of the normal patterns of growth. ) but you won't be able to tell soon enough.
