why is my chick not growing?

I’ve never used poultry cell so I can’t comment on it. Sounds like it would be a good option. I have used poultry Nutri drench with newly hatched and it’s great for this. So I’d say either one would be fine to use. Sorry your little one is having pasty butt daily. Do you think her swollen vent is caused by the pasty butt?
Oh, I thought you had used it, haha. Thanks for coming over

It is mixed with their drinking water. The directions are on the bottle. Up to 4 days they get 4 oz. per gallon. 5-14 days it is 2 oz. per gallon and on and on.
I even give it to hens to enhance the hatchability of their eggs as well as spiking their feed with a bit of Fertrell nutria-balancer. Be careful with any kind of supplement. Too much of a good thing is always a bad thing.
thank you! do you think it could harm my other chicks? is there a way i could give it to just her?

thanks for replying! i most definitely think the vent is causing the pasty butt. i’ve been putting prep H on it and it still seems a bit sore. poor girl. i have noticed a difference with the ACV thou

A wire brooder divider is what most people make. It won't harm them, I give nutridrench to all of my chicks for their first 3 days, but it can cause bad diahrrea so don't give it more than 3 days in a row.

thank you! i tried separating her earlier but she got too stressed out. she really relies on the others. lol i’m definitely babying her. i don’t want to give my other chicks it if it cause diarrhea but i also don’t want to separate her. ughhh

That’s why I like PND it can be given straight with out having to be put in water just dribble along her beak or tiny drop right inside the beak. Never shoot down the throat.

thank you i think i’ll give that a try! i’ve read about if you shoot it down it’ll hurt their pipes or something. is there a video that could help me? i really don’t want to harm her

Just dribble along her beak or a few tiny drops right inside her beak. The reason for not shooting anything down the throat is because they can aspirate on liquid if it goes down the wrong hole. But if you just put it right inside her beak give her a chance to swallow then another you should be fine.this link will show you what the back of a chickens throat looks like and how to administer liquid meds but your chick is too tiny for this. https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...dications-to-all-poultry-and-waterfowl.73335/

There are two ideas behind the benefits of nutri-drench. The first is that it hits the bloodstream almost immediately and doesn't have to be digested. The other is that it has minerals that are electrolytes but also the vitamins that may have been lost in older feed. It doesn't have B-complex but that is because they stay in feed longer and should always in plentiful supply due to the feeds being grain based.
I used to get pasted vent from time to time but about 6 years ago I started putting Gro2Max probiotic powder in chicks' first water and periodically thereafter. That is after hundreds of chicks hatched each year.
If your chicks don't have a healthy gut biome, problems like pasted vent follow. Hen raised chicks don't have problems but brooder raised chicks do because they have no means of getting good bacteria and fungi to populate their gut.
It can also boost growth because the gut biome is how the nutrients get into the bird.
