Yes forgot to mention about them all. I usually put in my hatchlings water for their first week just for a boost.

would it be okay to mix this with any food? There are two ideas behind the benefits of nutri-drench. The first is that it hits the bloodstream almost immediately and doesn't have to be digested. The other is that it has minerals that are electrolytes but also the vitamins that may have been lost in older feed. It doesn't have B-complex but that is because they stay in feed longer and should always in plentiful supply due to the feeds being grain based.
I used to get pasted vent from time to time but about 6 years ago I started putting Gro2Max probiotic powder in chicks' first water and periodically thereafter. That is after hundreds of chicks hatched each year.
If your chicks don't have a healthy gut biome, problems like pasted vent follow. Hen raised chicks don't have problems but brooder raised chicks do because they have no means of getting good bacteria and fungi to populate their gut.
It can also boost growth because the gut biome is how the nutrients get into the bird.

The Nutri-Drench or the Gro2Max?would it be okay to mix this with any food?
sorry, the gro2maxThe Nutri-Drench or the Gro2Max?
The former is for the water. The latter can be mixed with both feed or water but I use it in water because it is too hard to make sure the powder gets mixed thoroughly in feed.
thank you very much you have no idea how much this means!! this whole thing is very stressful as i’ve already gotten attached to themYou have gotten plenty of advice on food and supplements, but I just wanted to add a little encouragement. I have currently have two chicks that started out very small and experienced some early health issues (first severe shipping stress, and later a vent issue). At four weeks old now they are still at the small end of the size range in my flock, but they are happy, healthy, vigorous, and growing in size and feather development. So don't give up! Failure to thrive is a real issue and I have probably read the same scary threads you did. BUT an early set back, doesn't guarantee a lifelong problem. You are clearly being very attentive and doing a lot to help her and I think she has a good chance of a full recovery and a normal life.![]()
That’s awesome! I just came across this thread and am very happy to hear that! Because of your dedication she’s thriving. Good job!Hey everyone!! I just thought i’d update y’all again! She is doing amazing! She’s about 2 weeks now and her feathers around her butt are growing back and the redness is just about gone. She has put on a few more ounces (thanks to the egg, tofu and nutri drench) Shes at the young chicken stage where she’s starting to get her little wings in (she’s absolutely crazy flying about the brooder!) although she is still smaller than the rest she manages to boss her way amongst the cage pecking at any one in her way! I just want to thank everyone again for all your support and help, as this is my first time having chickens I couldn’t do it with out you guys❤ the community on this website is absolutely amazing
