Yes, chickens aren't bred to be extremely friendly (excluding certain breeds such as silkies and cochins, but even those aren't guaranteed to be friendly). They are bred for meat, eggs, and looks.

Someone insists their chickens MUST love them, despite the fact that chickens are prey animals and not all of them are going to want to sit in your lap for cuddless

You can read through the thread. OP doesn't believe us that you can't force a chicken to be friendly. They're convinced that there's always a way to change them.

A chicken must be socialized as much as possible at young age, and throughout its life in order for it to be friendly. However this does NOT mean it will want to be a lap chicken. There is no way to force a bird into loving to cuddle, it’s their choice.

Yeah, I only pick up the ladies when I have to put them away or move them (when it's absolutely necessary), and if they don't mind being petted or held, then those are the ones who I'll pet and hold.

We've been trying to tell OP that, but they don't believe us.

All of my girls where handled from the DAY I brought them home. I hand fed them their feed every morning, before filling it up for them to enjoy from the feeder.

And guess what? only one of them is a lap chicken

and its OK.. they are prey animals. you cant expect them to be like dogs
