Hello again 😊. This is the same chicken her name is Bella , what could be causing her to keep her eye closed. I don’t see any injuries.as we figured out she doesn’t have pox but this also seems to be happening with her. Any clue.

Open her eye and flush it out with saline, see if there's any debris, pus, etc. that needs to be removed. You can put a dot of Terramycin eye ointment in the eye if needed.

Hard to know why she's keeping the eye closed - could be injury or a peck to the eye, she got something in the eye or she may not be well. First try flushing/cleaning, see that she's eating/drinking well and observe for any other symptoms that she's ill.

Thank you I tried to order Terramtcin ointment on Amazon but they don’t deliver it to my location . Is there anything else I can get.

Some states don’t let you buy antibiotic ointments such as Terramycin. I have used plain Neosporin triple antibiotic ointment in my chicken’s eye without a problem. If you have any leftover antibiotic eyedrops from a family member’s cataract surgery, those also work. Vetericyn and other manufacturers make an eye gel too. Lastly, I have used a $5 bottle of human Bausch and Lomb Eye Relief Eye Wash on my animals to flush an eye and it soothes irritation.

My Rhode Island Red is doing the exact same thing. She's not sick or lethargic and is eating/drinking normally. But is keeping her eye closed. I can tell it is bothering her as she rubs it on the back of her neck. Is your hen better?
