Why is my chicken not flying on my lap

Does anyone know how to get my chicken to fly on me and sit on me and want me to pet them.. because my chicken don’t rlly run away from me and she loves to sit on me and won’t get down unless I put her down. But I try and train her to come up on me instead of me getting her and I saw other ppl chickens do that why won’t mine :(
Bribe her with snacks!! And in the future, when you get new babies, hold them ALL. THE. TIME. A good number of my girls readily jump on my lap (and fight over lap space) without treats. But there are also times during the day they’d rather scratch around in the dirt 🤗.

I started to tell them to fly on my lap while holding a big bag of mealworms. The bigger hen is super smart just flew on me

I used to give grasshoppers that I caught from the front yard (it was gross but I feed it to my chickens ) usually in summer I catch like 20-30 grasshoppers every few days and give it to my cockerels and pullet but then sadly had to give the cockerels away :(
Awww thats a hard thing to do!😭 I guess I’m not that ambitious I get a bag of crickets at tractor supply.😄

Yeah sometimes there’s like those jumbo grasshoppers super big and the rooster takes it his name is butter and he’s the one who gets the most since he always steals it from others! He also follow me on walks in the front yard and catches lots of bugs and crickets, grasshoppers and even a giant mantis. Really miss my roosters :(

How many roosters did you have? I used to have three and the hens only liked to mate with one so I guess that made it easy to know which one to keep even though I liked them all. His name is sully.

2 unfortunately started to fight and 1 hen. Had to give the roosters away I think it was the rooster collars fault because that day a rooster collar came thought it would work since I searched. Then fight and were bleeding

time and patience--I held all of mine A LOT as babies, and they always wanted snuggles as adults. You can use treats to entice them over but it's better to build a bond from when they are young, that way they will come regardless of whether there are treats involved or not. It is possible to build that bond with them as adults but it's a lot harder! Best of luck! :)
