Why is my cuckoo maran laying blue eggs

Have you contacted the breeder yet? Some of their birds may have accidentally gotten mixed up or something. I’m sure they’d love to know about this or would maybe even give you your money back.
I'll mention it to him. She wasn't expensive so not worried about that, it's just unexpected!

I can’t help but I just want to say she’s so pretty!
We too, have just had the exact same experience! Which is how I landed here on this page. We have one Cuckoo Marans, were expecting dark brown eggs, but alas, her eggs are very small and light blue.

I have a black marans I bought from a local breeder this summer and she just started laying------Green eggs!! Here I am anticipating those beautiful dark brown eggs, but NOPE! She also has grey/blue legs like my blue americaunas. She's a beautiful bird, bblack feathers with that green sheen in the sunlight. Just not what I was expecting.

A lovely olive egger!

I agree with the others---a legbar-based olive egger. The crest is the give-away. Some of the hatcheries' marans are clean legged, so maybe her other parent was a marans, to get the olive eggs when crossed with the legbar.
