I just had my first hatch yesterday, all welsummers, and I have two that are light in color - with almost no markings. I do have a RIR, but none of the eggs I collected for the incubator were hers...or I would think this was a cross. I do have a welsummer hen that is light red colored - outside the breed standard - but she lays dark eggs and I didn't bother to segregate her when I was gathering eggs. I'm guessing this is her chick. She was not this light though as a chick. How un unusual is this? Any guess on roo or hen?! This chick was born yesterday and is really cute, but...?

that looks more like a RIR or red cross chicken

welsumers have the wild type gene so a chipmunk should be there be it a light one there should be something
