Why use Poly Vi Sol without iron?

I was lucky to find the last bottle of poly vi sol without iron the other day at Target when Cocoa was starting to lag behind the other chicks. And I searched on the forums but I couldn't find a reason to not use the vitamins with iron in them. All that seems to be mentioned is use the vitamins without iron but I'm sorta curious to know why without iron? If anyone out there knows would you please help explain this I'm sure I'm not the only one curious as to why we should only use the non iron formula for chicks.

Probably because the iron compound causes constipation.

I think they can overdose on the iron.
