i look at it this way i is not hard to take a chickens life that is why i don't name them .i had a hard time at first but it gets easier the more you do it.i thank the chicken for dyeing for my food and the GOD for the chicken:D. i do have a heart i have a silver laced wyandotte that i hand raised because a mean chicken hurt her eye. I love my Maggie one eye.

A friend of mine raises rabbits and birds for meat. One day last week her daughter went to school and was talking to a friend about the bunnies they had and mentioned that they would be ready to process before long. The other little girl was horrified that they would raise something for food. Where do people think their food comes from? It does not fall out of the sky!!

I've never thanked a chicken for dying...that seems a little too hypocritical. "Thank you, now hold still while I make this cut, would ya?"

I do, however, have an attitude of thankfulness about all the food the Lord allows me to raise and consume....I just thank the proper Authority for it.

well i am Native american so that is why i thank the animal for dyeing.

I am not Native American but have Native blood in me. I also thank the animal for it's sacrifice so that I may eat. I think it is just respectful.
