Why won’t my chickens eat fruits or veggies?!?

My chickens refuse to eat fruits or veggies. Am I doing something wrong because no matter what I leave out they do not want it, only the crumbles and occasional dried larva. They will pick at the plant leaves in the garden though.

They don't really need them, the food is enough.
Chickens don't like syrange, new things.

How old are they? What are they eating as feed?

They are about 15 weeks old eating Natures Best Grower Crumbles and then I let them out for 4-5 hours in the afternoon to roam around the yard.

If they are not introduced to these things in their first few weeks, they tend not to be very adventurous eaters.

Wow I had no idea! They are my first chickens, getting more chicks in July and will definitely give them stuff way earlier.

Not too much. Mostly what they need is their scientifically balanced nutrition of their chick feed or all-flock, etc. Table scraps and other treats, consider that cake, candy and ice cream, not supplements.

Ok thank you, I want to be able to give them the trimmings from the garden mainly and the occasional dried larva. Was so paranoid as a new chicken owner they didn’t get anything other than the crumbles till they were 10 weeks old.
