why would people rather argue than try and help?

I see people asking questions about their chickens daily and a lot of times they get no response from anyone! I have posted about legitimate issues and just need a helping hand and there is no one out there who even attempts to respond but they will always respond if it isto arghe about how this or that is done. Why is this? I thought that education was a huge part of this forum? us newbies to poultry nedd some help from time to time and forums like this can do just that but it seems like a lot of the OTs dont want to ne botbered by our silly questions. Sometimes its just impossible to find an answer on the internet so we rely on the OTs.

so im just rambling....I will always be willing to help if anyone needs my help. Also I didn't mean to ruffle anyones feathers with this post lol

A lot of people tend to gravitate towards negativity.
Unfortunately, “helping” people just does not excite them as much as “arguing” with people.

That being said, the GOOD news is that there are still a lot of us who enjoy helping each other with questions. That’s how we all learn.

HI. Sometimes people don't answer because they DONT have an answer. Sometimes the post just plain gets over looked.

Some people would rather argue because that is closer to their nature. Some people take comments to personally because you can read what ever intonations into written words that you want, versus hearing it spoken. Arguing is also easier to do in written word because you don't have to read the response.

I have asked questions plenty of times, and not gotten responses at all, but have seen that people did look at the thread... I don't get bothered about it. A lot of times, I just ask my ? in my state thread where I have made some friends. I will a lot of times, ask my question and then search my questions to see what answers I can get. Annoying sometimes yes... BUT... Well.. Yeah...

What are you TRYING TO cause trouble?

I have come to learn in chicken raising there isn't a right way and wrong way for the most part. Basically it is what works best for you and you only. Everybody has a different set up, so what might work for me might not work for you. There is a baseline of all things but adapted to fit your needs and preferences. Most here give their opinion and that is just what it is, OPINION. Some don't like their opinion questioned,I just move on from those people. I probably was one of those once a long time ago but as I have tempered with age and feel that arguing opinion is a battle not worth fighting because there is not right or wrong in opinion. Some think that their opinion is law, gospel, or what ever other word might fit.

You know when you post you have to consider people have lives, jobs, farms and animals to tend to. So don't take it personally. Sometimes you post will get bumped down the line from other posters so some might not see it.Also take in the fact some of the longer tenured members can get a little tired of the same questions. Generally if I have a question or problem I will do a search first and if I don't find what I need then I ask. There are no silly or stupid questions, just questions you don't know the answer to. At 50 years old I still love to learn and ask a lot of questions about everything. That way if someone is having a conversation about sedimentary rock,I want to have a little knowledge of it. Doesn't matter what the subject I want to have a knowledge so I am not standing there clueless.

Not an OT nor newbie, I guess a tweener in hobby chicken keeping.

Dont let a few bad apples ruin it for you. Most people are eager to help. Just be careful that some dispense book or worse, hear-say knowledge. Tried and true hands-on experience is most valuable.

Having said that, some of the questions (and answers) are really from the left field. But that is part of the entertainment we get from this site.
