I do not mean to rain on your parade, but not likely this will make it to the crime lab, given their resources and the crimes committed against people. Further reports by others in same county might tip the scales in your favor. Best thing is to leave it there as backup in case you get a tip or get a video of perp. If you find the casing, it could have enough of a print on it to help as well. Chain of custody of evidence would apply in any felony tho, so it likely would only work to get a confession in exchange for no jail time.This jerk may kill someone some day, whether deliberately or otherwise.

Sorry, I really have no update. The cops never came back to get the bullet, which is still deeply planted inside my coop wall. I haven't touched it because if they ever do come back out here, I want them to see where it is.

I haven't bugged them about it because it's been a very busy week for me...I haven't been home enough to call them and stay long enough to be here if/when they come by. I've been telling my neighbors/friends/hair stylist/etc. to make sure that if it happens anywhere else, it gets reported.
