I'm a little concerned about your safety hooks. Raccoons are very good about opening things.

We also constructed a PVC feeder, although DW and I believe we chose the wrong T-joint; Feed spills out too frequently. I also ran electricity out of the house and have it hooked to a timer to turn on a CFL just before dawn. Not real important yet, but I don't have to run electrical in the fall now.

You need a 'Y' fitting, not a 'T' fitting. Hopefully you didn't glue it and can return it for the 'Y'.

Thanks aart. We had a 45 street elbow as well, so I sawed off some of that additional piece and things seem to be working.

In general, we've moved to maintenance mode. We have sand/pdz and have to adjust closer to the 4:1 ratio, it gets a bit smelly thus far. I also ordered some horizontal water nipples as recommended elsewhere on BYC. Should get them mid-week next week.
