Wierd looking wart on chick (has a gross image)

Hey, I bought 6 chicks from TSC recently. I got 4 white leghorns and 2 orpingtons. It was all fine until I saw something one one of the orpingtons. I saw a weird ward coming out of the chick. It isn't pasty butt as it's not in the cloaca of the chick. It seems to be like a dark wart. I was brushing it off with a warm towel, since just rubbing it won't cut it I need to know if I can pull it out with the cloth. After, I would like to know if I have to put triple antibiotic on the area. He behaves just fine, but this thing has me worried. I am going to have a picture. Viewer discretion has been advised.

Probably just the "belly button". I'd leave it alone. It'll fall off by itself.

I agree, I would leave that alone, don't pull on it. Likely it's a piece of dried umbilical cord that will fall off on it's own in a few days.

Has that been bleeding at all? I see a bit of red in the first photo...you can put just a dab of triple antibiotic ointment or bacitracin on it if you wish.

It's in the right place for the navel. Leave it alone--you don't want to irritate it or risk infection. If it doesn't heal and drop off in a couple days, I would apply some Neosporin or spray it with Vetericyn.
