A friend of mine raises pigeons. He will sometimes take the babys away and hand feed them so that the parents will start a new batch. He feeds them baby chicken feed with H2O and blended, in a small syringe. About every 3-4 hours. Nuggets recipe sounds much better.
As for the mites, put some pine needles in the nest wheree the pigeon is. Make it all pine needles. And a small cedar branch. I dont know if there is any way to remove the mites at such a young age.
I dont know if you gave it a bath if it would survive, but that would be a possibility and then get it warmed back up if you want to chance it. Thats what I would do, but,,,,,, ETA: with a drop of peppermint oil in the water(food grade is fine)..... maybe just use a wash cloth and dilute the peppermint oil and that would more than likely take care of the mites. And THEN put the pine needles with the pigeon. Under a brooder light.
