ok, I found the pic I took of him the other day. I realize that this pic is lousy and far off, but I have seen him much closer (just never had a camera on me those times of course!). Even though you can't see his details well here, you can at least see how blue he is against the green background. So cute!

Well, I'm a Freelance Photographer in my spare time, so for me, the pic is lousy. If I had my big lens on my camera I could have gotten a great picture. The darn thing is SO elusive. He literally only stays a few seconds. You got me thinking about Cardinals now. I found a baby cardinal once that flew into our window. I held him until he snapped out of his dizzy spell, got a few pics, and then he was okay and flew off. I'll try and find that pic........

I wanna post a pic of a baby mockingbird! The story is we were outside taking pics and got a pic of it on the tree, and all of a sudden our cats jumped up and got it! We chased after them for a while, and the finally they let it go. It wasnt dead, but couldnt move. We kept it for the night, and in the morning we put it in the tree and the moma came! It was so cute. I cant believe we got to hold the baby! I will get some pics in a second..

Oh cute, I've never seen a baby mockingbird. Here are a few of the pics of the Baby Cardinal that bumped into our window and was disoriented for a short while. I know he may not look like a Cardinal, but remember, he's a baby so his full color hasn't come in yet. He was SO SWEET!

Aw, you guys are lucky....I guess I have an assortment of wild birds. But a lot of them are a bit drab to me! I also don't feed them too often, there's WAY too many squirrels where I live. I bought an $100 dollar squirrel proof feeder a few months ago. But squirrels would actually jump 10 feet from a tree above, RAM the feeder....knocking out the birdseed. I never knew they could do that, it's very annoying! They also scare of any birds. Not to mention my chickens scare them off too! So I simply feed the squirrels, still amusing but I would rather have birds.

The birds in my area are blue jays, mourning doves, cardinals, titmice, red belly woodpeckers, great crested flycather, sometimes wrens, and once in a while I'll see a flock of finches. I also see swallows flying, but never perched. For all of those I've only been able to attract the cardinals, jays, doves, and titmice. The others are a rare sight...but I hear their calls all the time.

Oh, so cute! The baby on your leg is adorable, great pic! The house finch looks like he's peeking at you. I have a lot of Titmice here too, they make such cute sounds. The other day I was adding seed to the feeders and two Titmice kept dive bombing, wanting food but waiting for me to leave. At one point one landed on my head! Only for a fraction of a second, then he realized and flew onto a branch. Wish I had a pic of that!
