Wild Birds in my Chicken Coop

I think that's where we got into trouble. We have three bird feeders and once the locust swarm of wild birds finish with that they go pecking around the chickens. We kind of opened the floodgates.

has anyone tried hanging compact discs in their run or coop to keep out small wild birds? I heard this once but never heard if it was successful?

I have hung them in my coop and they keep some of the sparrows away, but not all. The key is to have them on long strings so they move erratically in the wind and shine light everywhere.
Since I put them up, the numbers of sparrows has decreased dramatically, although there are some that ignore the light.

Wonder if it might still work for me near Seattle, WA since we get more than a lot of gray days without sun or limited sun. Also, has anyone had luck with statues of horned owls?

You might want to try those round blowup balloons that they use at airports. They have two bullseye eyes and are brightly colored. I know you have to move them around every week or so, otherwise the birds catch on. I only worry that they'll scare the chickens, but it's worth a try!

guess that answers the question of the Owl statues pretty clearly.
