Wild neighborhood tom cat is about to lose his 9th life!

Its all a matter of timing... hoping we are able to take care of him this weekend. He is jumping into our fenced yard to try and get them... so he needs to be stopped before its too late for my little ladies. Thanks everyone for your feedback.

If you don't want to shoot him you can always call your local animal control, most will let you come pick up a trap. Put a can of tuna in it, then return the trap with the cat inside...

You definitely have a right to defend your livestock thats for sure!
However just make sure its feral and not someones "Sweet little fluffy kins..." If it has an owner who freaks out easily you may run into trouble there.
If its a stray on the other hand, you should be alright as long as you don't have activists in your area.

If you dont want to kill him, you could probably just get a kids bb gun (or airsoft gun) and shoot him... when I was really little,my dad shot a tom cat that was killing the chickens with a bb gun and he never came back. it sounds mean, but you have to do what you have to do. Just make sure you don't shoot around his face, and it will just sting him good enough that he wont want to come back.
