Wild or dumped ducks?

They may even be Alysbury. Are Pekins available in the UK?
in fact, when I looked up "white duck in the wild uk" pretty much all of the forums, all the pictures, were abandoned pekins. When I saw these ducks the first time, I didn't know much about ducks, but looking back I do think they looked most like pekins, perhaps a cross with something else.
I'll be going and taking some food for them today, I'll take a picture if they're there, then I'll go back and get them once I have everything I need (some kind of carrier, probably a large dog crate) and maybe a pen to catch them, or a net.
I'm hopeful, I found a Facebook community for the pond and in one more recent post, I could see them in the background!

A dog crate works well. I used one to put some ducks I rescued off our river. and i used a dog portable pen to catch them in, putting feed in the back end of it so they had to waddle in to eat then closed off the open end and all I had to do is pick them up and place in the crate. Might even get a friend to help with the rescue? If nothing else they can keep anyone who thinks it's their business to get into your business away.

I just went to see, I also contacted a local community page for the pond, someone informed me that the ducks have been here for a few months and recently one was taken by a fox. I saw the remaining duck, she looks fairly healthy from what I've seen but is extremely timid, even more so than the wild mallards, which makes me wonder how people have treated her in the past... She got some food, but as I say, was pretty timid. I got a few pictures, now its time to plan a rescue

Win her over with food, treats. It took me close to a week to win over the 2 mix breed drakes I rescued but it was worth it.
I went back a second time just a bit ago, I wanted to try again and this time she came out of the water so I got a really good look at her, she came almost within a meter. I'm a little worried about her legs, one she limped on a bit, and she's a bit pigeon toed, still managing to get around and eat, she seemed a bit better walking as I left, so perhaps she was just a bit stiff or stepped on something hard, not sure without seeing her again for longer...
Yes, my plan is to fix up a quarantine pen for her, in the meantime, visiting often and giving food to earn her trust

I went to see her again today, as well as pick some things up for her quarantine pen. She swam right the way across the pond to me today! Even though the mallards wouldn't come over. She seems to have made a friend, one of the wild drakes there. The water seems so polluted, a lot of rubbish thrown in and people feeding bread... And whats concerning me now is that there are more drakes than females down there. 😕
The pen will be set up for her and I'll be able to try and catch her at the weekend (hopefully).
