Wild turkey hens seduced our tom-

Question.....
When I look up turkey jackets I really only see hen saddles. Since the males strut almost all the time🤪 Do you think straps that go across the back of the neck and across their back behind the wings would be best? Essentially only having the fabric be on the chest? I guess kinda the opposite of a saddle. Haha. Does that makes sense?

You mean something like this?

This is actually a broad breasted belly guard that someone requested. The top picture is being worn differently than It was made to be worn but it works. Here are pictures of another hen wearing one correctly and how it looks/fits.

Yes! Only difference I was thinking of having only the straps go around the neck and back to allow the Tom’s to lift their feathers and strut still.
I figured in addition to blaze orange fabric I could use reflective tape to write ā€œpetā€ on it too. Not that a wild turkey would be wearing an orange jacket for there to be a need to make the distinctionšŸ˜†
Or is it better to have the vest part(like shown above) to keep a better fit? I’ve never made saddles or the alike before. But I have done my fair share of sewing. Just not sure what design would be best for the boys.

Thank you btw for sharing that picture, it is very helpful!
