wild turkeys and chickens

about a week after i got my chicken i saw a huge wild turkey just standing on the fence staring down on me and the chickens and after a few minutes it left. I dont usually see turkeys around here so do you think it had something to do with my chickens? Would i turkey ever try to get a chicken?

I doubt it. Most likely attracted by food. Was it a tom or hen? My hubby says if it was a jake (very young tom) they are just entirely to curious for their own good.
