Yes, they're both Golden laced wyandottes, although one has an accidental single comb! We are definitely keeping them. They are a great part of our flock!

Wow, Starburst and Tiger were really rough at first, but everyone has finally decided on the pecking order, so there isn't any pecking anymore! Wyandottes supposedly have a 'don't challenge me and I won't bother you' personality. Of course, everyone has different personalities! I love pictures, but she sure doesn't sound the nicest! My Gold Wyandotte is my wildest hen and the most likely to get in a fight. I'd read they were quite calm before I got her. With no rooster in the flock she took over as pseudo rooster and beats the living heck out of my very gentle Australorp hens. It's nice to read about a tame one. I was starting to wonder as she is my 4th Wyandotte and none of them have been gentle or interested in being tame. Here she is below with her flock buddy Domino and my bravest Australorp.

I didn't look at feed store bulletins, but we did sort through facebook and posted some papers around. I feel bad for whoever lost them, but we haven't been able to find any sign of their original owners.I am glad they have fit in and adjusted well, but I do feel for whoever lost them. I have a GLW myself, in my avatar. I would hate for someone to decide she was lost or feral. She hates being held, too, so that would probably convince someone she wasn't part of a flock.
Did you look on local feed store bulletins? Craigslist missing animals? Local facebooks?
Chickens that don't like watermelon!?You've got some beautiful chickens! Mine are 6 mo tomorrow and haven't started laying!
Also, they are very picky. Watermelon is an absolute no. I don't know if I just happened to get the only chickens in the world who won't eat juicy or wet things or if one just doesn't like it and they're following her lead.
I KNOW. THEY'RE INSANE. They're also super rude and spoiled. If you don't give them treats then they'll just shout at you and squawk.Chickens that don't like watermelon!?
I have four girls that are 8 months and still not laying! Two are crouching now, so they should hopefully start soon... (I'm hoping they don't wait until next spring!) It's so hard to wait!
Exactly, that's what they all do! Haha!I KNOW. THEY'RE INSANE. They're also super rude and spoiled. If you don't give them treats then they'll just shout at you and squawk.
