I have 4 backyard hens and have evacuated them twice during fire warnings here in N. California. I have metal folding fencing and 4 medium sized dog crates and a large metal folding dogcrate. We evacuated to a Costco parking lot (bathrooms available). I assembled the dog crate, covered it with a tarp and made a day run with foldable fencing, and a large tarp thrown over everything. It was passable, but I'm going to invest in a portable Eglu (from Omlet) for next time. They are made in England and a bit pricey but worth it for peace of mind as fire season approaches once again.
