I'm gonna chim in and say the first pic could be a "Bobcat", but is probably a large house cat.

The second pic looks like a large racoon, and the tail is probably tucked up between its hind legs like other animals do.

I'm with you... rounded ears off the side of head, stubby tail, and hind foot looks about right if you consider camera angle. Looks like a bear cub to me.

I reviewed the pics I have from the same time period. For those who think my animal is a raccoon or opossum, here are two shots showing those animals in the same location. The possum is much smaller than the mystery animal and while the raccoon is about the same size, the ears and body shape are different.

Here is the mystery animal again for reference along with the possum and coon. So, now what do you think?
