Pics
I love bluebirds! Well, actually I love all birds, I can't help it:oops:.

This morning I finally got around to processing my own bluebird pictures. They are western, not eastern, so they are a little different than GravityWave's bluebirds, but still quite similar. They were taken on Wednesday, but I wasn't able to brighten up the pics enough with my camera's RAW processing so I had to find something else something to use. Maddeningly, the bluebirds always stayed in the shade which was very hard to get properly exposed/non-blury or noisy pictures in. Anyway, here's what I got:

This one doesn't have very many megapixels because the bird turned his head right before the picture, then he left before I could get another. I cropped it a lot to get it positioned.

I didn't get any good pictures of the female, but the bluebirds were accompanying their baby. Here is the juvenile bluebird:

Here are some more pictures from Wednesday:

Had an awesome time this morning and I think I took some of my best shots to date. I stopped on the causeway on the way home from work to try and get some osprey pics. While walking down the dock I noticed a small alligator about 6 feet away. He paid me no attention. So I walked back by him, got off the dock, and walked down to the waters edge about 5 feet from him, he never moved.

I was able to sit down and hold my camera just above the surface of the water (my lens hood was touching the water). I took a couple shots (couple hundred, lol) before the sun fully cleared the horizon and when it did I got a few more in the nice golden hour light.

He was next to a floating dock and the sun reflected off of the 55 gallon drums which colored the water nicely. My only issue was not being able to get his nose in focus because of the shallow depth of field. I stopped down to f13 but still couldn't get it in focus. I was too close and couldn't back up without losing my low angle. I realize now I should've zoomed out to get a larger depth of field then crop back in in post. I wish I woukdve zoomed out a littke bit more anyway because he is pretty tight in the frame. Oh well, I won't forget that next time....

Nailed it!

Definitely not the best pictures I’ve ever taken, but they’re the best I got for that trip. Here they are:

I woke up at 5:00 AM to see two bald eagles sitting right across the river from us. One was eating something (I’m guessing a fish) and the other was just sitting there watching.

Not a great pic, I should’ve cropped it more. But it was a cute little bird nonetheless

For these pictures I went out in my kayak and tried to get stop action of the bird flying. They were flying crazy fast right next to me/over me. So I have like a hundred pictures of blurry birds, but these are the few that I got that are good. If only my shutter speed had been just a bit higher :(
