Thanks a bunch! That was my favorite image of the trip and definitely my best fish pic to date.

The edit is really what made the difference though. It was a decent image straight out of camera, but the busy, bright background on the left side of the image took away from the fish and the whole image was a tad flat overall. I also shot at ISO 3200 which is higher than I like so it has a little bit of noise if you pixel peep.

Darkening the background made the biggest difference. It's more dramatic and your focus is drawn straight to the fish and stays there. Then I just gave it a little punch and increased the exposure and saturation on the eyes a tad too. Just wanted to show how much a little editing can improve an image....
