Wiley bandits!

I have caught 9 coons in my backyard, burbs of N.O., in the last 7 yrs. I have a large wire trap, the best bait for me has been the juice from a Tunafish can on stale bread, broken up and scattered in the back of the trap and under the trip plate. Most of the coons are now Federal employees, they were released into Jean Lafette National Park were they entertain visitors or they became food for the big gators who reside there.
Coon #9 however would not coperate and had to have an attude ajustment from Mr Colt. All this happened before I became a chicken owner. Our 5 hens 10 wks old have been outside for a month with out an attack. but I did see a possum near the coop 1 night and a hawk sitting on the coop one day.
