Will a roster mate with hens even if he is injured

My rooster is currently injured and one of My hens is broody. We Believe the rooster Been injured before the hen went broody and we want the eggs to be ferterlized so we can have chicks but we are not sure he has Been mating with them because of his injury

How badly is he injured?

If he is in enough pain to limp, I doubt if he has been doing any breeding.

Not sure but he walks fine at times

It may depend on how determined he is to breed as injuries can completely put them of breeding. Hope he is OK
