Will an electric staple gun work?

On this subject , I have always called those u shaped staples " fence staples " . Has anyone here ever used the new cordless hammer sold by Craftman [ or any other manufacturer if there any ] ? How do they perform and can a fence staple be driven with them ?

You could also use wood screws with a washer big enough to span the opening of whatever material you are using. It goes in quick and can easily be removed later. It just costs a lot.

I use an air stapler to attach welded wire or hardware cloth to wood. It drives a 1/2" crown galvanized staple 1 1/4" flush with the wood. One of these heavy duty guns is probably not practical for an average homeowner, or one time coop builder, but I build quite a few pens around here, and use it often. A grizzly bear would have a tough time pulling them out. A good air stapler costs around 150.00, but if you own a farm, or have the use for one, they sure make hanging wire fast and easy.

I used the kind that works like a hammer. It's not electric but it sure works easy. I used it to put up the plastic chicken fence as well.
We don't have a coon issue where I used it, assuming you don't either.

I have used air staple gun with 90-120 psi head.. It puts long staples in deep.... Electric which I tried are a waste of time unless you pound them all in with hammer and then pound long hardware staple every 3-4 inches to make sure the staples hold. Dont waste your time with electric gun rent air gun and compressor or hammer "U" staples into hardware wire. You will sleep better and so will your birds.

Chaug, teach1rusl, and millebantam nailed it, pun intended.

Use the elec to tack it into place, and then use hammer & poultry staples or a compressor with a pneumatic stapler and 1 1/2" staples.

Be advised that chicken wire is not viable for keeping any predator out. Also be advised that coons regularly dine on poultry inside of city limits. ( Those stupid things cannot read the 'city limits' and 'no trespassing' signs!)
