Will eat the chickens if I take the eggs

Thanks every one yes it ate three to four eggs and it dug under the coop so I don't think it's a snake but I have had one in my coop before

What ever dug the hole, might not be what ate the eggs.

A chicken snake is your problem. The name "RAT" snake is the politically correct name for the old BYC nemesis "CHICKEN" snake. You can take the name out of a chicken snake but you'll never change his dining habets or rehabilitate him. They eat chicken eggs and baby chickens among other birds. I have found them waiting in blue bird boxes for the mama or the papa blue bird to stick it's head in the little round door of the blue bird box. Rat Snake my you-know-what.

Snake, rat??? Do you have a game camera you can put up? I have several around on my property. I have put them in a coop.

I have had some rats in my nest boxes and once I found a snake in one. I have seen snakes around the coops.
