will eggs get bigger as hens get older?

Glad to know they will get bigger. I have 4 hens, my barred rock and black sex Linc have laid large to jumbo from the start. My ameracauna and Brahma lay small eggs. The 1st 2 have been laying about a year now and the younger two about 6 months.

One of my bantams all of a sudden laid an enormous egg!! They are a lucky set 5 laying hens out of a straight run of 6! They all lay every day so far!!

That can happen. Here is an egg one of my Large Fowl females (not sure if it was a pullet or a hen) layed next to a regular large egg..

All of mine have got larger with time. I did have one lay an egg without a shell, just the membrane and yoke. I thought that was very weird.
I had a couple hens do that too during the first week or so of their first laying.

Most of my girls start out laying little eggs and size up to larger eggs within a few weeks, but I've got one poor 6 month old rescue golden comet girl who lays a double yoker a day... it's not often people wish they're eggs will get smaller as they age, but she's definitely one I'm hoping will start laying littler eggs! 20200626_212520.jpg

My BA has been laying for a couple of weeks now. She's laid 11 eggs. They are all small to medium sized. The breed is supposed to lay large eggs. Will egg size increase later?
Yes they will get bigger the first month they lay eggs are usually small
