Will geese help protect ducks from foxes and other preadators?

If you had Canadian Geese on your pond, would "They" keep predators away? We used to have a wild pair that hissed at us and had a nest for several years on our pond, one of them got injured by a gun probably, one day, and then they both disappeared. I was quite sad because I enjoyed seeing the babies and watching the eggs. We are going to put ducks on the pond in the next week or so and they were born the last week of may and the first week of june. Will they get eaten this young? They are muscovies and magpies? Sorry this isn't my thread, but I was interested.
