Well I'm down abit. I got around 75 bobs now. Butchered right at 20 in the last few weeks. Will do around 30 more in the next few weeks. Thin'n the flock down to free up pen space. Just keep'in JJ's butlers and some I got from a feller in Texas... Both clutches are monster birds and still not half grown. I hatched 47 chukars 3 weeks ago, still got all 47 of them go'n. Kinda gettin to like'm. I got a 80 coturnix eggs, off my birds, due this weekend too. And another 3 dozen ready to hit the bator soon and its empty...I only have a dozen breeder cotrunix, but they crank out eggs. I'v been send'in them all over the country to anybody that wants some, just for the ask'in.... Lots of folks want'in some good brown birds to start there flock, and I like givin them away!! Bill

Cool deal! I remember lamike told me a couple of years ago that the chuckars rank up there pretty close to Bobs as far as good eatin'. Who knows, I may steer away from Bobs one day, but right now I'm stickin' to my word......nothin' but Bobs. Yeah, I gave a bunch of Bobs away (fully dressed) last fall, but these trips to the feed store are comin more frequent, and the feed prices keep going up. I may stop at 350 - 400. Even now, it's an every day evening long task of takin care of biguns and little'uns..... Oh well, I just picture them drownin' in gravy, and that keeps me keepin' on.....

AMEN to that my friend. I feel your pain. The few I feed are eat'in just over 50 lb a week. and with all the little'uns grow'n fast, thats sure to climb fast... I smile every time I vac-seal me a meal size bag of birds for the freezer thou. Gonna be good this winter... Bill
