Will roos try to mate with roos???????????????????????????????

Yes, mine do that. I believe that they are just being curious. It is perfectly normal.

They usually don't actually mate, but they will mount each other. Just like dogs will hump another dog...or a leg

. It's social dominance, nothing to do with sexual orientation.

donrae, thats what they say about sex crimes against women, too! (that it is about dominating, not about sex).
But, in most forms of animal life there are documented same gender activities that aren't about dominance and about pairing if that species pairs up. Some species apparently don't! Chickens, I think, for the most part don't pair up, all though I always here now and then about a pair that sticks with each other, roosts next to each other, etc.
