Will They be Ok?

There's no single number for how long it takes for eggs to die if left alone. It varies highly depending on how cold it is, how well the eggs are insulated, if there's air movement, and if there's any humidity. Mother hens need to be able to leave eggs to eat and poop, and wild birds in particular need leeway on how long they can be away to forage without the eggs dying.

OP, stop checking on your bird. Leave her alone, she should calm down and sit properly on the eggs. Broodies know what to do, and will do it if allowed to do so.

Thanks, everyone! I did leave her alone after the 2nd time. The 2nd time even though she wasn't actually sitting on the eggs she made it clear she wanted them.

I got her set up with a nice mat so the eggs would get crushed into the holes in the crates and she seemed to really like that. Checked on her this morning and she was completely on them and doing her puffing up thing and warning noises at me until I gave her food.

She seems quite happy. Her comb had taken on a red/purple tinge at the tips that we didn't see until we got her to my place last night and I read that one cause of that is stress, which I think was a big thing where she was at. Her comb looks much better today and she happily hopped off the eggs for food. My sister had been having to take her off before. ^_^
