I have some 7 week old EE and Orpington chicks and I’m wondering if you think they could get out and squeeze through this? I have a great pyrneese that keeps predators out but I have to keep the chicks in away from her.

It looks like it should hold them, but you might want to supervise them in the cage at first to determine if they could squeeze through, and make any adjustments if needed before putting them in full time.I have some 7 week old EE and Orpington chicks and I’m wondering if you think they could get out and squeeze through this? They might be able to squeeze through if they really push. Bigger fear is they'd try, get stuck, panic, and kill themselves. Even with a LGD I would still put a couple feet of smaller opening wire mesh around the bottom of the fence, to keep small pests out and of course keep the chicks in.
predators (coons) might not get in but if they can get they're grubby little hands in and grab a curious bird, he will try to pull it through the wire. He may not get the whole bird but he will get enought to not make any difference. Smaller wire is needed.
