Cockerel is looking quite handsome! He's very vocal. Has made some "dancing" moves but the older ladies don't seem impressed yet and chase him away.

Goats are doing well! No baby from Daisy yet. I've been keeping a close eye on her. I will be getting 2 more goats soon. A wether and a doeling from a strong milking line. Building my herd!

Beau has settled in well. He's a big sweetheart. He seems to enjoy the little Rock platform we made for the goats.

Another Before (pic taken this morning) and After from a long day of hard work. I love how every time we clear land, we find very nice surprises. Didn't even know this gate was there at first!

In other news, chickens are doing great. Cockerel is still behaving himself and he seems to have earned his right to mate even my most dominant hens. I did catch him trying to grab an unwilling hen and ended up pulling some feathers as she ran away. I'm sure the others will correct that.

In goat news, no baby yet.
I had to separate Beau (the LGD) from the goats temporarily in a different pen. He... um.... got a little excited when Maggie (my non-pregnant doe) went into heat and he... made contact. I found her bleeding but acting normally. Blood is not normal in goats during their cycle. It only means trauma, miscarriage, or some internal issue like cancer. The trauma had to be Beau because I caught him attempting to mount a couple days prior but Maggie butted him off and he stopped. I figure it was a self correcting issue but I was wrong. Felt pretty horrible for not separating him immediately. I've had an appt to get him neutered since I got him but it takes a while. His appt is finally on Wed. Hoping that will calm him down but I'll also only let him in the goat pen for now when I'm there and can correct any unwanted behavior. Thankfully, Daisy (the pregnant doe) doesn't appear to be harmed. Maggie only bled that one day and healed up very well. She's shown no outward signs of the issue.

In the meantime, I've been training him on a leash and he's doing great. We go for long walks around the property every afternoon.

No kidding. I honestly was shocked. When I googled it, I couldn't find out if it happened to others or not. I thought... am I the ONLY person to experience this?! I had to go way down the rabbit hole to find out that it does occasionally happen with young male dogs. I imagine people just don't talk about it.
