A loud voice boomed out from the hilltops. It was Central. "REDFERN!" she called her daughter. "Where have you gotten to?!"

"Hm?" mumbled EchoHeart as she heard the voice.

Redfern squeaked and looked over at the mumbling chicken. "It's okay, it's just my mother. She can get pretty vocal."

Another booming call emanated from the top of the mountain.

"Oh," said the broody. Seconds later, Furychick poked her head out from under EchoHeart's velvet soft down. "I don't believe we've met. Allow me to introduce myself, I am EchoHeart, and this here is my chick." She motioned a wing towards the fluff covered being who had just awoken from her restful sleep.

Sapphirechick bounced backover to his mother "Hi mommy! Who are you?" he said seeing Sydney.

Sapphirechick looked at the berry and pecked at it then realized it was a rasperry (I guess) and kept pecking until the rasperry was devoured by the chick.

Red giggled. Then she quickly clapped a wing over her beak because she never giggled!
She took out a pouch of assorted berries for the young 'uns.

Sapphirechick used his beak and pecked a big hole in the pouch so all the berries spilled out. He wildly started pecking the berries.
