My oldest hen is also my meanest, unlike how she was a couple of years ago. I think chickens start getting mean and senile when they start getting past the age of 8 yrs.

Mine are mean and senile and they're two and a half. I guess it's because we conveniently gave them two younger pullets to bully the living daylights out of.

Just bully? my chickens kill..if they see a new chicken introduced to their flock......even after two months of seeing them through bars and being (unsucsessfully) free ranged together..... -.-

Yup. I don't think my chickens have ever drawn blood. They wouldn't dare, I'd pound the heck out of them.
