"I would choose to complete my mission for The Shadows,of course," He replied, dipping his head slightly. "I wouldn't let family,or former loyalty's get in my way."

"You've never given me reason to doubt you, Deathstorm," Aspspur stood eye-to-eye with the rooster, gaze darkened by his own thoughts. "And now is the time to prove your loyalties once again," his beak twisted into a grim smile. "You know what I'm going to ask you to do," his voice was as quiet as the whispering wind, a menacing hiss. "If Nightwhisper fails--" the sun fell behind an outcrop of clouds, darkening the shadows playing about Aspspur's features. "Kill him."

Deathstorm's eyes widened and he looked uncertain for a moment. "K-Kill him..?" He repeated.

"Yes," Aspspur said, expression unreadable. His sharp eyes took in Deathstorm's every reaction. "You see," he strode along the branch lazily, spurs leaving a small, dripping trail of venom. "If Nightwhisper chooses to abandon us, he will be a danger not only to the location of our camp, but to our very mission. He knows too much. And," he circled close to Deathstorm. "I've seen how he affects you. I see how you care for him--yes, I know. You try to hide it when you're around us, but I can see plain as day. He's an obstacle to you, Deathstorm. If he can't work with you, he will be a barrier to you--another object standing in the way of your service," he shook his head, as if the suggestion gave him pain. "If this is so, he has to die. It's best," he stared hard at Deathstorm. "For everyone."

Cherrypaw growled as a branch slapped her in the face and she reached the place that she had seen Deathstorm and the rest last. She furrowed her brow when she realized they had left they must have gone to the shadows camp she reasoned with herself and set off in the direction of the shadows camp where she had first spyed on Aspspur and Deathstorm.

The quiet pitter-patter of approaching footsteps could be vaguely heard from inside the dank little den that held Silvermist. "Fireflower?" called Wildheart, his tall, lean figure silhouetted in the doorway, against the bright afternoon sun that shone hot on his back, splitting off in fireworks of golden and crimson. "Are you here?" he called quietly, his orange eyes shifting around the dark room, a wing held over his forehead to sheild the bright light from his sweat-beaded face.

She looked up from a small table covered in various leaves "Wildheart?" She asked, a smile spreading across her beak "What can I do for you?"

Immediately Yewchick began yelling out angry insults, wings too wet to flap out of the basin and completely overtaken by annoyance. With every harsh word, Badgerchick winced, and glanced sideways at Falconchick, beak opened in shock. "Yew!" he said urgently, eyes shifting about. "Don't let momma hear you, she'll--she'll--"

"What?" Yewchick growled, splashing water angrily in his direction. "Wash my beak out? If you haven't noticed, it's all ready been pretty well drenched!"

"Please, Yew!" he said pleadingly. "Keep your voice down! Someone'll hear us!"

"Then get me out of here!"

"But--" Deathstorm started, but then decided it would be best not to argue. He sighed, dipping his head once again and closing his eyes. "Very well." "You have my word," He stopped for a moment, wondering if he was really making the right choice. "That if my son fails," "I will kill him."

(Um, she can't "walk in" unless she can walk on water

Which would be pretty cool, I might add)

"Just because both of you are momma's favorites," Yewchick sneered, finally pulling herself from the basin and setting off down the branch, feathers poofed in indignation. She shot one last glare back at the pair of them. "See you around."

There was a small silence, in which Badgerchick stared at his toes nervously. "I'm sorry, Falcon," he muttered, kicking a small acorn over the edge and through the canopy below. "She--she's usually not like this."

"I ask nothing more," Aspspur said simply, expression grim. "And nothing less. You've done well so far, Deathstorm," he made a dismissing motion with his wing, ending the meeting. "Don't disappoint me. If you do this, just remember: obedience does not go un-rewarded."
