So Ive got some chicks that were born Sept 25 , and i would love love love to get them into an out door brooder - however winter is approaching and im not sure what kind of brooder i need to build to make sure my chicks stay warm and continue to grow ! So if any one has any pictures or links or well advice i would be forever grateful ! I wouldn't be ready to transfer them out doors into something bigger than the large tote, however they are in the bedroom as we have no garage and they have started to try and escape I am sure that putting them in with my other 10 just isnt an option as they are already 6-7 months old and laying ..

Hi

,

Well they are gonna spread a fine mist of chick down all over your bedroom. You will see it as a fine dust. Yuck. Do you have a basement? Put them there with a light. Surf the Net for : Gail Damerow brooder. Or is it Damrow ? I believe BYC even has an article in there Learning Center by her about the subject. It's illustrated.
Best,
Karen
