Hello All,
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Since school let out for our winter break we've had snow and cold weather. I did NOT sign up for this in OK! My mom and teenager came out to spend time with us for the holiday. On the first morning here we had fresh fried eggs (of course!) and bacon (teeanager's favorite!) and would you belive it? I broke a toe on my left foot when the tupperware bread container dropped on my foot. Well, we went shopping at the mall on the 24th anyway. Thankfully our mall is only one level! I had a great time with my Mom here, and she and I got the material for her blocks for the swap. After that nice incident, it snowed! Twice! So, it's been icy and snowy outside and needless to say, not SAFE for my poor hobbling outside. I told mom I'd sew up here blocks since I'm holed up in the house and can't walk well on ice.
The chickens are weathering better than I in the cold weather. My boys went out and shoveled the snow in their coop so they could walk around and scratch. The dear daughter has been feeding them for me, and hubbie has been collecting eggs. I sure hope I'm a little more mobile when school starts back up. I tried to convince the hubbie I needed the hot rod red scooter with off road wheels and a horn. He laughed and looked me in the eye and said no. Hmpphhhh. Well, I guess there is no better time to have to elevate a broken bone then when you are already off work!!
I hope all your holidays are wonderful and filled with family, lots of food, and laughter and love! Those are the best times and great memories. Here is our 2nd annual gingerbread build competition. We usually have boys vs. girls teams. It's lots of fun, and we find ourselves peeking at the other to get ideas to make ours better.
