Winter Quilt Block Swap 2013

He is just precious Baustin!

After changing my pattern and getting new fabric, I have 5 done, 5 almost done, then tomorrow 5 more. I have a love-hate thing with these half-square triangles, the worst being I think cutting off those little tails which of course I had to figure out and only 360 of those little guys:( Once that job is done it is clear sailing and they go together really quickly. I have been cutting about 5 at a time so not to get overwhelmed, and a fresh blade works wonders :)

My blocks are done and will be in the mail on Monday, a lot going on with everyone, I love how most of us have never meet, but we are all so much involved with each other. Prayers to everyone and I wanted to let you know that my daughter is doing better, she is O so colorful with her bruises, but praise God she is still here to love and kiss on. My Nephews son has taken the family record away from me for having the biggest baby born. Ashley was 9 lb. 13 oz. natural birth I might add, so I guess I still hold the record on that part since his son was born by c-section. Also, no luck on finding a new used car, I will keep on looking! Can't wait to see every ones blocks.

I'm glad your dau is doing better, good thing she didn't drive faster than her guardian angel could fly. I still have not invested in the rotary cutter or mat told my husband that I may have to do that since I really think it would make the job easier. Since I really think I am going to like this quilt making, I still have yet to finish a quilt too, I think the first quilt I finish will be the the chicken quilt since that is the next new swap that will be started and then I should have enough blocks for one, but I am making blocks for myself to put with the others we get so soon I should have enough there too.

Darn it! I got behind doing the blocks by hand and figured I better rig them up on the sewing machine. Well, I was zipping right along and thought I had the hardest part behind me but as it turns out, I figured the size wrong on quarter square triangles! Blasted things! A lot of wasted time and energy and fabric! Tomorrow I will cut enough fabric for ONE of those things and put it together and see if I have the measurements right this time!

On another, and sweeter note... what a cute little baby boy! Congratulations Grandma!

Thank you all for the congratulations. I'm also glad my granddaughter is getting along fine since the accident. I hope my daughter finds another car soon. I know what it's like driving a rental. I'm driving a Chev Cruze and will be glad to get my Camry back. The body shop said maybe Monday

I can relate to everyone and their problems with the triangles. I am also. If anyone is having difficulty with getting the right size, may I suggest moving your needle over one move to the right. I've found it works much better. My default is 3.5 and I moved it to 4.0. My blocks are done for this swap but I'm having the difficulty with my block for the next swap. I'm still debating on changing to another pattern. I have 3 blocks done and will try to get pix tomorrow. I have the Masonic newsletter coming up and will have to work on it more as I get close to the deadline. I have to have it to the sec. by the 20th to be proofed and make any changes before I send him the final for him to take to the printers.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I see what you mean but put a strip of the purple around and I think it will look pretty, then the next problem will be you will run out of purple and the store won't have any more to match, that would be my world.
